Reviving a Not-So-Good Marriage
A troubled or mediocre marriage can be revived by wholeheartedly applying the following steps.
1) Repent
To repent means that you turn from what is hindering your relationship. It means that you are genuinely sorry for the mistakes, wrongdoings, and disloyal acts that you have committed.
If a couple is unwilling to recognize what is hindering their relationship and take the necessary steps to change, their marriage will not improve.

2) Communicate
After they have sincerely repented, they must commit to open and honest communication. They must be willing to listen to each other's thoughts, feelings, and desires concerning their marriage relationship. Misunderstandings must be eliminated. Each must feel like their feelings and needs are understood by their partner. This communication will provide the information needed for the next step.
3) Build Trust
A marriage is only as strong as the level of trust between a husband and wife. When a marriage is suffering, trust is also low. A spouse must now prove to their partner that they are trustworthy. Each will do so through their words and actions. They must demonstrate their level of commitment to each other by meeting the needs of their spouse.
If couples would just follow these three simple steps, they would have healthy marriages. Most couples genuinely love each other but have allowed trust to be destroyed. They have not honestly communicated the thoughts of their heart nor wholeheartedly repented of past failures. You must not allow these things to poison your marriage. Make a commitment today to improve your relationship with the one that you love. It is worth every effort and sacrifice on your part to have a passionate and caring marriage.

Pastor Brad
